Re-Bath Gives Back to Florida Family in Need

Re-Bath remodels master and children's bathrooms for military family

- Lance Corporal Michael Adams, a veteran living in Orlando, Fla. served our country in Iraq and Re-Bath is giving back to Michael and his family.

Suffering injuries when his vehicle ran over a double stack anti-tank mine during a convoy security operation in 2004, Adams received damage to his left ankle and left wrist. In 2007, he left the military with an honorable discharge and diagnosis of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD.)

Now married with two young children including a three-year-old daughter, Cecilia with cerebral palsy who is unable to walk or talk, the family lives in a home passed down from their grandparents. Re-Bath, the world's premier full bathroom remodeling company, in partnership with the Lifetime TV show "Designing Spaces," revamped the Adams' outdated master bathroom and children's bathroom during the 'Military Makeover' series, a home makeover TV show for military members in need of home renovations.

The three-part series, airing this month and throughout September, creates home and life transformations for military families across the nation. Hearing the Adams' story inspired Re-Bath to provide the family with the $40,000 makeover, donating all of the materials and labor for renovating the two bathrooms to make life easier for Michael and Cecilia.

Marty Rasmussen, Re-Bath President, described the project as near and dear to his heart, from both a personal and business perspective. "We have several military veterans in my family, including my father and both my grandfathers, as well as several of our franchisees around the country that are veterans themselves," Rasmussen said of being drawn to help the Adams. "We just knew that this was a good place for us to be able to serve this veteran who had served our country," he said.

Re-Bath Corporate tapped its Mid-Florida franchisee, David DenBoer and his team to transform the bathrooms, updating their design and functionality, upgrading their overall quality and appearance and making them safe. The master bathroom remodel included Re-Bath's DuraBath Natural Stone wall and shower system, a low-maintenance and groutless alternative to tile.

Cecilia's bath space received a DuraBath SSP wall surround treatment, as well as a Re-Bath Walk-in Tub, custom made for her mobility needs. An extra bench was also installed in the tub, allowing her parents the space and support needed to bathe their daughter more easily. As Cecilia grows up, the walk-in tub will adjust with her, providing the utmost support as her needs change over the years.

DenBoer described Re-Bath's involvement as an extremely rewarding project. "It was truly an uplifting and feel-good experience," he said. "It was a great chance for us to give back to our local community."

Re-Bath honors the opportunity to provide families and homeowners with stunning full and partial bathroom remodels to improve their look or functionality and meet the individual style and needs for a renewed bathroom. Tune in to see the Adams and hear their heartfelt story on Sept. 1, 8, 15 and 22 at 7:30 a.m. EST on Lifetime.
